The annual Project Threadways Symposium brings together scholars, activists, makers, and thinkers to present research, share stories, and encourage dialogue about the connection between material culture and making—from our community to others around the globe. Presentations, dinners, tours, and workshops create a multi-day experience in Florence, Alabama.

Project Threadways will share stories of those who have gathered to weave, craft, sew, and tuft—and, in doing so, created economic opportunity, organized resistance, and achieved self-determination from their work.
